you might not need the patchHG site strongly suggests to use the patch, so I would like to install it. I started to play last week, so I did not encountered glitches so far.
It is not an expansion, it is a patch which is said to solve glitches in the game. I launched both from CD and from virtualized ISO file on Daemon Tools. But if it has a install option that lets you play it without the disc, and you have the computer space/power needed to run it I'd try that.I have tried that. Maydayp I don't have emperor, so I can't really help.
